RESOURCES
FOR GETTING YOUR WATER TESTED!
If you think you have a serious contamination problem
with your water source, call your state
public health agency for a laboratory referral!
Getting your water tested once think you have an analysis can
be a problem. Is the ad in the yellow pages a reliable lab or
not? The links here will get you a certified lab and a pretty
good idea on testing costs. The first part, by state, tries to
find state agencies that test water for home owners at reasonable
cost.. They are usually labs associated through a university or
college.
At the end of the state list is a link to the EPA site that has
a large list of certified. Below that is a link to a list of state
agencies that certify labs in each state. Call them for a referral.
Below these links are two links that will help you interpret
the results from your water test.
If you are thinking of a whole house system, send them our form
and ask them to test for those parameters. Ask for estimates from
2 or 3 labs to get the best price.
WATER TESTING
LABS BY STATE. Click on the State. We were generally looking for
low cost state run labs that would do water testing. Usually the
Agricultural Extension service from one of the state universities
would have a lab that would do testing at reasonable cost. If
you state is not listed, check the neighboring state or the lists
at the bottom of the page.
