"SIMPLEX™
ION EXCHANGE REGENERATION SYSTEMS
REGENERATION
MODULES WITH POWER PURGE™ WASTE MINIMIZATION

Remco
Engineering offers a compact, wall mounted, microprocessor controlled
regeneration system for regenerating ion exchange columns. The
simplex™ regeneration modules are designed to regenerate
anion, cation and chelated resins according to manufacturers specifications.
These systems feature fully automated regeneration cycles with
resettable timing cycles.
Featuring
our own trademarked rinse water conservation features know as
Power Purge™where the columns are emptied after each
process cycle to minimize regenerant dilution and facilitate transportation
of the column. These systems can also segregate spent regenerant
from rinse water to make recovery and/or treatment easier.
Another
feature that is available as an option is the NO-FAIL regeneration.
This feature uses flow sensors on the regenerant lines to measure
the actual amount of acid and caustic added to the resin to insure
a complete regeneration. If the system takes more time than it
should, an alarm sounds for an operator to investigate the problem
and the cycle is restarted from where it stopped.
These
compact systems are wall mounted and can regenerate columns of
any size. For practical reasons, only portable columns up to 10
cu. ft are recommended. For fixed installations, any size column
can be regenerated. We can mount the system to make it portable
so you can regenerated larger columns at different locations or
move the regeneration system from one building or site to the
next.
System
configurations available:

- Fixed
system is mounted to a wall. Premixed regenerant is pump fed
from customer supplied tanks. Regenerant is premixed to between
6% and 8% concentration. The system monitors regenerant levels
in the tanks (inputs provided for level controls).
- Also
a wall mounted unit. Injectors mix caustic and acid from drums.
NO-FAIL option is suggested as injectors and lines can plug
when fed from drums.
- Portable
unit with NO-FAIL option for eductor mixing from drum feed.
System is mounted on a light weight fiberglass skid which can
be wheel mounted or moved by a forklift from one location to
another. System is approximately 4 feel long by 18 inches wide
by 4 feet high
- Customer
specified configurations are also available.
The capacity
of these systems is limited by the total regeneration time
required for each different column size. Small columns can
be regenerated in a couple of hours whereas larger columns
can take 4 or more hours for a complete regeneration cycle.
These
systems feature:
- Fully
automatic regeneration for 1 to 45 cubic foot columns.
-
Manual override.
-
POWER PURGE™, air assisted draining
of column after rinsing and regeneration cycle.
-
Quick disconnect fitting for interfacing columns.
-
All valves and fittings included.
-
Eductor for regenerant feed (50% caustic or 37% HCl or 50%
Sulfuric acid)
-
Preprogrammed low rinse water use cycles.
The system has all of the valves, fittings and eductors to
regenerate chelated resins, or both resins from an anion/cation
DI system. All functions are preprogrammed so operator involvement
is minimal. Pressing the "MENU" button on the control
panel brings up an extensive menu that allows various cycles
to be selected as well as full manual control of the regeneration
if desired. A complete timer and counter submenu allows custom
programming functions in a low cost system. A 110v outlet(s)
is supplied for interfacing a recirculation pump(s) should
you wish to recirculate regenerant.
Customer facility requirements are:
-
110 v. power (5 amps) for control power and regenerant pump
on chelated systems
-
Tanks for rinse water and spent regenerant (50-500 gallons
each depending on column size)
-
80 psi regulated, clean air
-
Concentrated regenerant tank on chelated systems
-
DI systems need DI water for rinsing after regeneration
The system is customer mounted on a wall and include Nema
4x pushbuttons and enclosure for long life in corrosive environments.
When used with the P-SIX™ or simplex™ columns,
multiple metals and anions may be recovered with one system.
The regenerant is diverted to customer supplied container.
The system is maintenance free and simple to operate.
