Remco Engineering is a manufacturer of industrial water purification systems.  Due to high demand, we have developed a compact, industrial quality water purification system for home operation that is easy to maintain and low maintenance.

WHY WHOLE HOUSE REVERSE OSMOSIS?

Reverse Osmosis (RO) removes up to 99.8% of the chemicals in the treated water.  This means that arsenic, cyanide, chrome, copper, nickel and other ions are greatly reduced.  In addition, water hardness is also removed (calcium and magnesium) which eliminates lime scale formation on  bath fixtures, in pipes and in the water heater.  Most water heaters fail due to calcium buildup on the heater elements, this system will eliminate that method of failure.

With RO water, dishwashers last longer, and dishes rinse spot free.  The scale that builds up on showers and bath fixtures is eliminated.  Water tastes better and is better for you.

WHAT IS REVERSE OSMOSIS?

RO is a membrane filtration process where water under pressure is forced through very small pores in the membrane and the dissolved chemicals are left on the pressure side of the membrane.   (See HOME RO LINKS, above for more information)

DESCRIPTION
Our home reverse osmosis system is rated at a nominal 1500 gallons per day.  The capacity will vary depending on your incoming water quality.  The standard system is sized with 1500 parts per million Total Dissolved Solids (TDS).  This is very high for municipal supplied water.  Well water can be much higher.  Sea water or brackish water systems have much higher TDS and are available at a reasonable cost.

Our systems are mounted on a fiberglass skid with the RO water holding tank and softener brine tank mounted next to the skid.  The systems consist of:

  • Fiberglass mounting skid
  • Multimedia prefilter, with automatic backwash valve
  • Water softener with automatic regeneration based on flow
  • RO membranes with 95-99.8 rejection rated, depending on application
  • RO pump with stainless steel housing
  • RO housings made of stainless steel
  • Dual pressure gauges
  • Dual flow meters
  • Conductivity monitor indicates water quality
  • Sterilization systems meters in hypochlorite to keep output sterile
  • RO water holding tank, 350 gallons.  Larger sizes available
  • Brine tank for softener
  • Repressurization tank and pump keeps household water at 35-50 psi.
  • All 110 or 220 Volt operation
  • Optional - larger storage tanks, higher capacity, higher TDS capacity up to seawater concentrations
