THE
3008 CYCLONE RECIRCULATION SYSTEM (CRS)

EFFICIENT
SCRUBBER RINSE RECYCLING
Remco
Engineerings' Cyclone Recirculation System (CRS) reduces water
use and reduces waste treatment costs. One of the major problems
with scrubber systems is that they use a lot of water, (8-10
gpm) and dump particulate copper in the rinse stream. The rinse
water usage is intermittent and when the system is turned on,
it surges into the waste treatment system, causing you to size
the waste treatment system for these surge flows.
Dumping the copper in the rinse stream causes another problem.
The copper is dissolved in the rinse water and you have to remove
it again. Our systems remove the copper fines and pumice (if
any) and collects them in a bag for direct recovery. If your
local reclaimer will not take copper powder, the copper can
be dissolved in sulfuric acid and plated out as copper sheet
in one of our electrowinning units. Each system will flow up
to 20 gpm and will handle up to two scrubbers in the dual scrubber
configuration. Compact sizing allows for easy placement anywhere
in the shop. Controls are fully automatic and with the "flip
top box" design, bag filter changing is simplified. An
open skid is available for improved access.
The systems operate as follows:
Water is gravity feed from your scrubber into our holding tank.
A sealless centrifugal pump accelerates the water through a
centrifugal separator which removes the copper and pumice to
a 5 micron level. The separator is dumped once per minute to
a bag filter which holds the filtrates. The clarified water
is then fed to one of two automatic backwashing media depth
filters which polish up the effluent for recirculating back
to the scrubber. Water is clear enough leaving the system that
a glass full appears clear. A level control on the main tank
automatically maintains the solution level so the slight bleed
of the filtered water to drain prevents a buildup of contaminants
in the water. The automatic backwashing media filters automatically
switch back and forth. Backwash water from the depth filters
is filtered through the bag filter to remove any sediment and
returned to the main holding tank for reprocessing.
Options available include:
Rubber coating of pump and cyclone for pumice or Aluminum Oxide
materials.
pH adjust for neutralizing acid predip.
Board detection at the scrubber for automatic starting of the
system.
Open fiberglass skid or polypropylene enclosure.
