WHERE'S REMCO?

CONDUCTIVITY SENSING
RINSE WATER CONTROLLER

DESCRIPTION

The Remco conductivity sensing controller provides a simple way to insure that a rinse tank stays clean. The unit is in a waterproof Nema 4x rated housing, designed for easy installation and maintenance. Weekly acid dipping of the probes is all that is needed to maintain the system in peak operating condition. There are three different types of mounting brackets available: one for welding to polypropylene tanks, one for bolting to metal tanks and one for bolting to plastic tanks.

The Remco conductivity sensing controller features a single probe, conductivity sensing system. The probes, constructed of stainless steel, titanium, monel or other conductive material, sense the solution resistance. These probes are connected to a circuit card in the main housing that controls the logic functions. The circuit logic controls a 3/4" solenoid valve that feeds water to the tank. A single turn potentiometer on the logic board sets the resistance (conductance) which triggers the solenoid. An optional flow restrictor provides rate control.

OPERATION

As the probes sense the water in the rinse tank, the logic board compares the probe resistance with the setpoint resistance. When they are equal or the probe resistance is greater than the setpoint, no water is added to the tank. When the tank resistance is less than the setpoint, the solenoid is turned on until the resistances are equal. The setpoint is determined from a graph of ppm vs. resistance supplied with each unit. A potentiometer on the logic card is used to set the resistance.
Generally, these systems are low maintenance. When used with DI water systems, maintenance is almost never needed. When used with non-softened water, probe cleaning is required to prevent scaling of the probe. Weekly acid dipping is all that is required.

FEATURES

1. Low cost, complete system.
2. Mounts to all tanks. Bolt on installation or weld on permanently.
3. Fail safe operation, manual override on solenoid if control should fail.
4. All corrosion resistant construction, designed for corrosive area operation.

BENEFITS

1. Controls water use.
2. Removes operator control of rinse water flow.
3. Keeps rinses clean, controls contamination level.
4. Reduces waste treatment costs by reducing water use.
